Leslie Crutchfield is an author, the Executive Director of the Global Social Enterprise Initiative (GSEI) at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, and a Senior Advisor at vlogۿ. Leslie co-authored Do More Than Give: The Six Practices of Donors Who Change the World with vlogۿ managing directors John Kania and Mark Kramer, recognized as a "game changer for philanthropy in the 21st century," and she collaborates with vlogۿ on developing new knowledge designed to advance social sector thinking and practice.
Leslie previously co-authored – recognized by The Economist on its Best Books of the Year list, and her third book is (Spring 2018). As Executive Director of Georgetown's GSEI, Leslie and her team conduct research and deliver educational and actionable programs that help businesses drive shared social, environmental and economic value, and work with cross-sector actors to achieve positive societal change.
Leslie was previously a managing director at Ashoka, the global venture fund for social entrepreneurs, and she co-founded a national nonprofit social enterprise in her 20s. She has contributed to The Washington Post, Fortune, Forbes, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, and Stanford Social Innovation Review, and has appeared on programs such as NPR and ABC News. Leslie has served on multiple nonprofit boards and volunteered with Crossroads Africa in The Gambia.
She holds an MBA and BA from Harvard University and resides in the Washington, D.C. region.
